Germán Cancio

German Cancio MeliaGerman Cancio is a Section Leader working at CERN's IT Department. He received his MSc after studying Computer Science at the UPM (Polytechnical University of Madrid, Spain) and the University of Savoie, France. After being a Research Assistant at the Artificial Intelligence Department of the UPM, German moved on to CERN in 1997 working on various activities related to large systems administration. He was the Fabric Management Architect of the European DataGrid project (2001-2004) and the leader of the Fabric Developments Section in FIO Group (2005-2007). Since 2008, German is leading the Storage and Grid Middleware Section in DM Group. German is a member of USENIX, ACM and IEEE Computer Society.
